Selling Sunset is a docusoap that allows viewers the opportunity to watch as the show’s realtors navigate friendships, marriages, divorces, and parenting, all while trying to sell dream homes to Los Angeles’ wealthy elite.

The series’ creator and executive producer Adam DiVello produces the show under his company Done and Done Productions alongside Lionsgate.

Brandon Riegg, Netflix’s Vice President of Unscripted and Documentary, announced the show’s renewal in a blog post on the Netflix website.

Moreover, in his post, Riegg called docusoaps “fun, light-hearted escape” and mentioned that he was “thrilled that Netflix members have embraced our docusoaps.”

Selling Sunset is one of Netflix’s first entries into the world of docusoap; however, the series’s success prompted the streaming site to invest in more properties in the genre. This includes a spin-off of the series with an all-Black female cast from Allure Realty.

Two days prior to the show’s official renewal, Quinn hinted at a fourth season in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. In the interview, Quinn told producers, “We’re not filming at the moment, but I assure you it’s going to be juicy when it happens. That’s for sure.”

Because of Los Angeles’ COVID-19 spike in late 2020, the show has yet to resume filming, but sources told Variety the show expects to be filming soon.

The first three seasons of Selling Sunset are currently available for streaming exclusively on Netflix.
