On August 3, Amazon released a new trailer for the movie Cinderella starring Cuban-American singer, Camila Cabello. In the Amazon Original movie, the 24-year-old singer will play the lead role, Cinderella, who is dreaming to become a dress designer.

The trailer for Cinderella begins with Cabello’s character excitedly announcing to herself, “This is it. Dresses by Ella,” which is the name for her newly found business. During the obstacle-filled journey to becoming a businesswoman, Cinderella has to also navigate her evil stepmother and sisters that are against her dream.

Later on, Cinderella attends a ball where she meets her prince charming, who suddenly picks the dress-maker to be his princess. Now, Cinderella has to decide whether to live like royalty or chase her dreams. Along the way, Cinderella’s fairy godmother, played by Billy Porter, will help the businesswoman make her dreams come true.

After the release of the trailer, Cabello tweeted that she “Can’t wait to share this MAGICAL film with” her fans.

The cast of Cinderella includes actors Idina Menzel, Minnie Driver, Nicholas Galitzine, Pierce Brosnan, and more. Furthermore, the movie was produced by James Corden, Leo Pearlman, Jonathan Kadin, and Shannon McIntosh, while Louise Rosner and Josephine Rose executive produced. Equally important, Kay Cannon directed Cindrella, which is described as “musically-driven.”

According to People, Cannon did not feel “attracted” to the Cinderella plot, but her viewpoint changed after reworking the story. The director explained, “I just felt like it was a great opportunity to show this loved, iconic character that is Cinderella in a way that’s more relatable to what girls and young women, in particular, are going through, where they can really see themselves.”
