The highly-anticipated The Matrix Resurrections will be dropping its trailer on Thursday, September 9. Ahead of the upcoming trailer, Warner Bros. has shared a teaser website fans of the beloved franchise can visit, gaining a quick look at some of the cast as well as Keanu Reeves’ revamped Neo.

Fans are welcome to visit WhatIsTheMatrix.com, which presents users with the image of a red and blue pill. It is the user’s choice to click whichever pill they want, as they are allowed to choose their own reality. This is an idea that originated from the first film’s installment: The Matrix, released in 1999. Morpheus (Laurence Fishbourne) offers Neo (Keanu Reeves) two choices: the blue pill or the red pill. If Neo chose the blue pill, the story would end, and he could believe whatever he wanted to believe. The red pill is Wonderland, where Morpheus shows Neo just how far the rabbit hole goes. In the film, Neo chooses the latter.

Each pill offers users a different reality. The red pill features newcomer Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who will be playing Morpheus, tells listeners that although one may believe it’s the current time, “that couldn’t be further from the truth.” On the other hand lies the blue pill, where fans are greeted by a voiceover done by Neil Patrick Harris, who is portraying Analyste in the film. He tells listeners, “You’ve lost your capacity to discern reality from fiction.” Patrick-Harris urges listeners that they have to accept their reality, and as the real-time flashes before one’s eyes, he reads it aloud followed by the words, “anything else is just your mind playing tricks on you.”

Regardless of the color pill users choose, both feature quick stills of the film, showing fans characters old and new. Arguably the most important figure in the franchise is Reeves’ beloved Neo, whose appearance is strikingly similar to another character in Reeves’ acting catalog: John Wick. Neo’s resemblance is uncanny to the famed assassin, and fans have picked up on it.
