The Weeknd took to social media on Wednesday to announce that he will be canceling his “After Hours ‘til Dawn” tour for 2022, promising that a larger stadium tour will come in the summer of 2022 instead.

The announcement came in the form of a social media post that reads, “The tour dates are moving and will commence in the summer of 2022. Due to the constraints of arenas and the demand for more shows I want to do something bigger and special for you that requires stadiums. Current tickets will be refunded automatically and all ticket holders will be given priority to buy tickets for the stadium shows when they go on sale. New dates forthcoming.”

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the tour had already been postponed twice. “After Hours ‘til Dawn” was finally set to commence in mid-January 2022 until Monday’s cancellation. The artist mentioned that in addition to refunds, ticket holders will be given priority in purchasing tickets for the stadium tour. While this is optimistic, plenty of fans are still left disappointed.

The idea of a larger tour is promising for some fans, though. A new promotional poster includes regions in Asia, South America, Africa, and Australia that were not previously listed as stops on the tour. Many are also already hoping for longer setlists to come out of this.

New tour dates for “After Hours ’til Dawn” have yet to drop. After Monday’s news, fans of The Weeknd are left excitedly awaiting new tour dates and anxiously awaiting refunds.
