Luckily, Kaling and Fisher’s tweet also contained some good news. “Hey crickets!,” the co-creators stated, “We’ve got some morning announcements for you: Season 3 of Never Have I Ever is gonna drop this summer!” With two more seasons to go, it sounds like there is substantial ground to cover. “We can’t wait to reveal all the steamy romance and hilarious adventures we have in store for you,” the tweet continued, “Thanks to all our fans for your support — especially you #Bevi and #Daxton stans!”

The coming-of-age series, which premiered in April 2020, follows Indian American teenager Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) as she navigates the rough terrain of adolescence. With no shortage of rocky romance and raging hormones, fans fell in love with NHIE‘s ability to create ultra-relatable characters. And now that Devi’s journey is finally coming to an end, they are having a hard time coping.

Never Have I Ever lead Maitreyi Ramakrishnan took to social media to express her gratitude. In a heartfelt post on Instagram, the 20-year-old actress shared a throwback video of her receiving the news of a lifetime, along with a note detailing plans for the series finale.

She revealed that filming for season 4 will begin shortly and that the sitcom will end with a total of 40 episodes. “It is my privilege to help create this story, so I promise I’ll give it my all and make you guys proud,” she stated, “Make myself proud too.”

While season 3’s summer debut date has yet to be announced, be sure to keep an eye out as the warmer months approach. In the words of Ramakrishnan, “Let’s do this one more time, yeah?”
