On July 11, BLACKPINK announced that they would host a virtual concert “The Virtual” through PUBG Mobile, a mobile-based multiplayer battle royale game. The concert will take place on July 22–23 and July 29–30 for North and South America, and on July 23–24 and July 30-31 for the rest of the world.

According to the official Twitter of PUBG Mobile, to attend this concert, you only need to download the game. Free concert tickets will be available on July 15 and the resource pack for the event will be ready for download on July 16.

This will be the first virtual concert held in PUBG Mobile. During the concert, the members of BLACKPINK will appear in the game as 3D avatars. From July 24 to August 31, fans may get the attire that BLACKPINK will wear at the concert in-game. Meanwhile, it’s worth noting that this is not the only event Blinks can attend. As a part of the collaboration, PUBG-Mobile is now holding a series of BLACKPINK-related events. On July 12, it launched an event to invite gamers to share their “K-Pop-inspired” outfits. After the concert, there will be BLACKPINK collaboration planes and airdrops in the game.

This virtual concert comes just before the much-anticipated return of BLACKPINK. YG Entertainment just confirmed that their 2nd full album is coming in August. At the preparation stage of the concert, Tencent Games, the operator of PUBG Mobile, teased Blinks by stating that there will be “a Special Track and new music video, designed and created specifically for this collaboration” during the concert. On Twitter, fans were eager to know if anything in the new album would be featured at “The Virtual.”

Pop Crave updated its Twitter on July 12, confirming the fact that “PUBG MOBILE teases BLACKPINK’s unreleased track “Ready For Love” being a part of their upcoming in-game concert.”

Though there are good models of in-game virtual concerts, such as Ariana Grades’s Fortnite concert, we never know what surprises BLACKPINK will reveal in their concert. Check out the PUBG MOBILE x BLACKPINK collaboration trailer below.
