BLACKPINK will be coming to an arena near you and bringing new music with them. On August 9, the popular K-pop group announced that they will release their second full-length album, BORN PINK, on September 16.

The announcement came after the group surprised fans with the release date of their latest single, “Pink Venom,” which comes out August 19. Though the album track and detailed song information have not been released yet, fans are ecstatic that the album’s release date is fast approaching. BORN PINK features the much-anticipated return of BLACKPINK. After the release of their first full-length album, The Album, in 2020, the four girls have been engaging in solo activities for two years.

This time, fans’ long wait for new music will pay off.  In addition to two music videos with the greatest production costs ever, YG Entertainment told Blinks that the album would also contain other special projects. According to a report on NAVER, “it is possible to assume that BLACKPINK members and YG have put much effort for this tight preparation.”

The teaser poster released by YG has a simple design as always. On a gray backdrop, several lines of text easily convey the album’s information. The two most significant pieces of information are highlighted delicately. The release date, “2022.09.16,” stands out on the bottom of the grey-toned poster, as it is in BLACKPINK’s signature pink. The name of the album, BORN PINK, located at the center of the poster, with a larger font size, is also eye-catching.

According to YG, “the album name BORN PINK represents bp dignity and confidence, which has a unique presence since birth Please look forward to the album full of music that matches Black Pink’s unique identity, which is the fatal aura itself.”

Fans across the world showed their excitement under BLACKPINK’s announcement and celebrated the return of the group. Some have stated that they “can’t wait” for the album. Though fans still need to wait a month to access the full album, the good news is that the pre-released single ‘Pink Venom’ will be available in less than 10 days. Meanwhile, after releasing BORN PINK, the group will start its world tour in October, and fans will be able to see the group perform live on stage.

During the past two years, the four girls have all made significant progress in their careers. Members have published impressive solos and contributed successfully performance in TV series. Recently, BLACKPINK’s Lisa and her single, “LALISA,” extended its record as the longest-charting song in history. While the details of the album remain a secret, it’s definitely worth the wait.
