Adele announced she wants to dive further into her education after the release of her video “I Drink Wine.” The songstress plans on pursuing a degree in English literature.

After the Los Angeles premiere of her new music video for “I Drink Wine,” Adele was involved in a fan Q&A where she revealed her plans after her residency in Las Vegas.

Adele explains that she wants to get a degree in English literature instead of making a new album. “I definitely feel like I use my passion of English Lit is what I do. But even though it’s not like I’d go on to get a job from my degree, I wish I had gone to university, I wish I’d had that experience,” She stated.

The Grammy-Award winner has opened up about her passion for English literature. During a television special, she told actress Emma Thompson about her favorite teacher growing up, Ms. McDonald. Adele explained that Ms. McDonald was the teacher who piqued her interested in the subject. “She was so bloody cool, so engaged. She really made us care and we knew that she cared about us,” Adele claimed.

Thompson then revealed that Ms. McDonald was in the audience. Adele instantly burst into tears as Ms. McDonald walked up to the stage. The pop icon emotionally described to the audience how much her English teacher changed her life.

Her special Las Vegas event, “Weekends With Adele,” will take place at Caesars Palace from November 18 to March 24, 2023. The artist will be treated to many perks such as a 30,000 euro-a-night suite, a butler, an executive assistant, a chauffeur, and security. She expects to make over 500,000 euros per show from ticket sales alone.

In early August, Adele announced that she had to postpone her residency. The “Hello” singer called it “the worst moment in my career, by far” and proclaimed she was “embarrassed” after announcing the delay.

Adele claims she postponed the show because she felt it wasn’t right and wanted it to be perfect for her fans. She comments, “The stage setup wasn’t right. It was very disconnected from me and my band, and it lacked intimacy. And maybe I tried too hard to give it those things in such a controlled environment.”

While her anticipated show was put on hold in August, fans can look forward to purchasing tickets to her rescheduled Las Vegas concert. Fans can also watch Adele’s new music video “I Drink Wine” down below.
