In a Tiktok video, also posted to Instagram, Grande looks to be comping vocals, the act of picking the best takes. The video stated, “wrote and recorded a verse for my friend after a 14-hour day on set…this certain exception had to be made.”

Most fans know that Grande has decided to take a break from music due to her busy filming schedule. Though she has not explicitly stated how long the break would be, many speculate that she will not return to producing her own music until the second installment of Wicked wraps.

She simply captioned the post with a star and crescent moon emoji. Immediately after, The Weeknd commented on the post with a pattern of the same emojis and posted Grande’s video, captioned with the same emojis.

Fans couldn’t be any more excited for this collab because, let’s be honest, when these two team up, it’s nothing but bops.

We got our first hit from them in 2014 with the sultry single “Love Me Harder” from Grande’s sophomore album My Everything. In 2020, The Weeknd was featured on “Off the Table,” a single from Grande’s 2020 album Positions.

Most recently, and probably most notably, Grande was featured on the “Save Your Tears” remix from the Weeknd’s 2020 album After Hours. Not only did this remix peak at No.1 on the Billboard Top 100, but we also got the exceptional 2021 IHeartRadio Music Awards performance just days after Grande’s wedding.

“Die for You” is a single from The Weeknd’s 2016 album Starboy. Thanks to TikTok, the track resurfaced and, as of February 11, is now topping Billboard’s all-format Radio Songs chart and the mainstream top-40-based Pop Airplay chart.

The Weeknd’s “Die for You” remix featuring Ariana Grande will be released the night of February 23. You can pre-save the single now.
