The group, which consists of members LEW, Hanbin, Hyeongseop, Hyuk, Eunchan, Hwarang, and Taerae, has gained both domestic and international popularity in the world of K-pop with their explosive and colorful initial title track “Bad News.”

Following their debut, they were acknowledged as one of K-pop’s leading boy groups and have attended award shows over the past year in both Korea and Japan.

In an interview with TEMPEST last April, Hyeongseop discussed how he wanted to, “try a futuristic concept,” as well as, “showcase other various conceptual genres.” After the drop of “Bad News,” they returned with two additional comebacks, each with varying concept and music direction.

The title track of their ON and ON EP, “Dragon,” which dropped last November, displays the charismatic concept Hanbin admitted expecting as their debut, with its powerful rhythmic chorus and melodic verses.

TEMPEST is still trying to find their flavor as a group and still has many musical releases ahead of them. While they have succeeded at the concepts displayed thus far, there remains so much left to be discovered. The group has certainly proven its duality and will continue to grow as they explore varying styles to find their true sound.
