The film is based on Marvel Comics and features the characters Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel), Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel), and Monica Rambeau.

The trailer reveals an explanation for why Kamala and Carol switch places at the end of Ms. Marvel. Kamala has already been confirmed as a mutant in the MCU, every time one of the Marvels uses her abilities, someone switches places. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) will have to deal with this body-switching problem himself, especially because in the trailer, a teenager appears in the space suit of his SABER astronaut. As a result, The Marvels will team up in the new film to face an intergalactic threat.

The trailer also features a Kree revolutionary who looks like she’s picking up the hammer from Ronan, and Kamala seeing a Flerken consuming two men whole. We saw the terrifying abilities of the same cat-like species in Captain Marvel when Goose caused Nick Fury to need his iconic eyepatch for the rest of the MCU timeline.

The stories of Monica Rambeau, Carol Danvers, and Kamala Khan will finally intersect in The Marvels. We know Captain Marvel has a history with the Kree people and Nick Fury from her story in Captain Marvel. This story is sure to be further developed when Marvel’s Secret Invasion series starring Jackson and Larson releases on Disney+ this June. Monica Rambeau, whose mother was a friend of Carol Danvers, has her story largely developed in the Wandavision series, where she gains her superhero powers. And of course, Kamala Khan gets her backstory in Ms. Marvel.

The Marvels is directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman) and written by Megan McDonnell, Nia DaCosta, Elissa Karasik, and Zeb Wells. Along with its three big stars, the movie will also feature Park Seo-joon (Parasite), Zawe Ashton (Velvet Buzzsaw), Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and Mohan Kapur, will be returning to his Ms. Marvel role Yusuf.

The Marvels will premiere exclusively in theaters November on 10. Fans can watch the trailer down below.
