Netflix just released the first trailer for Black Mirror Season 6.

The trailer is abstract and doesn’t give away too much about any particular story, but it’s clear it’s still the Black Mirror we know and love. The last season was released in 2019, so fans have long been deprived of the popular series.

Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, the Black Mirror choose-your-own-adventure movie, was released in 2018. Bandersnatch was originally intended to be a part of Season 5, but it was made into a standalone film due to its complexity and running time of an hour and a half long.

Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker described the new season as a surprise even to himself.

“I’ve always felt that Black Mirror should feature stories that are entirely distinct from one another, and keep surprising people — and myself — or else what’s the point? It should be a series that can’t be easily defined, and can keep reinventing itself,” the writer, creator, and executive producer stated.

There is a long list of stars joining for Season 6. “Bringing it all to life we’ve got an incredible roster of disgustingly skillful, smart directors working with a cast of actors so talented they frankly have no right to exist,” Brooker stated.

The cast list for Season 6 was also released and is as follows:

  • Aaron Paul
  • Anjana Vasan
  • Annie Murphy
  • Auden Thornton
  • Ben Barnes
  • Clara Rugaard
  • Daniel Portman
  • Danny Ramirez
  • Himesh Patel
  • John Hannah
  • Josh Hartnett
  • Kate Mara
  • Michael Cera
  • Monica Dolan
  • Myha’la Herrold
  • Paapa Essiedu

Brooker also shared, “I can’t wait for people to binge their way through it all and hope they enjoy it — especially the bits they shouldn’t.”

The sixth season of Black Mirror will come to Netflix in June 2023.
