Coi Leray has released her two new singles, “Bops” and “My Body.”

Leray released the singles within two days of each other recently, with “Bops” being released first. Leray now has the follow-up to her Trendsetter album in the works, calling it one of her “biggest projects ever.” The album will mainly feature her own artistry, with only a few features from other artists.

“I feel like a lot of the headlines kind of overshadow my true talent and what God really brought me here to do,” she stated. “So I just can’t wait because this album’s going to show that…And also the second album’s going to make people go back to Trendsetter and make them actually appreciate it for the music instead of the bullshit and the negative headlines and Coi Leray always being the topic. This album is all about me.”

Coi Leray has made a name for herself as a rising star in the female rapper world. Not only did her Grandmaster Flash-sampling single “Players” solidify her first-ever song in the top 10 in the Billboard Top 100, but she was also featured in the Hulu series RapCaviar Presents.

Leray celebrated the contributions of women in hip-hop to the fashion industry with Spotify in March. Spotify hosted its first runway featuring designs from LIONNE by Latoia Fitzgerald for Leray to present Lil’ Kim with the Women in Hip-Hop Fashion Icon award.

Leray draws on old-school rap influences, as seen from her sample in “Players,” and just performed with Busta Rhymes to celebrate 50 years of hip-hop. The veteran rapper contributed a verse in Leray’s remixed version of “Players.” “Players” already went through a handful of remixes, including DJ Saige’s mashup of Busta Rhymes’ 1997 classic “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See.”

There is no release date for Leray’s new project, but follow her on Instagram to keep updated with new single releases.
