Funk Generation Is a New Fan Favorite
Anitta’s new album Funk Generation brought in 50% of the votes for Billboard’s new music poll.
On April 26, Anitta released Funk Generation, which music fans voted as their favorite new release on the same day. Additionally, Anitta‘s album took the top spot in Billboard‘s weekly new Latin music poll results. Ahead of new releases from Gunna, Normani, Tems, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and more, Funk Generation brought in more than 50% of the vote on this poll.
Normani’s collaboration with Gunna on “1:59” came in second place, earning 23% of the vote. The song will also be featured on her long-anticipated album Dopamine, which will release on June 14.
Moreover, the Brazillian superstar boosts the rhythm of funk in her sixth studio album, featuring her singing in Portuguese, Spanish, and English. Among the collection singles, “Funk Rave” and “Joga pra Lua” are featured songs with Sam Smith as guest vocals on “Ahi.”

Moreover, Anitta announced the Baile Funk tour in support of Funk Generation, the singer’s first-ever North American trek. The tour will make stops in New York, Miami, Orlando, Los Angeles, and many more popular locations.
Furthermore, the Rio de Janeiro native has gained widespread popularity through her energetic performances and catchy funk carioca tracks.
Her international appeal has since skyrocketed, leading to collaborations with global artists and solidifying her position as a major force in the music industry.
Anitta is the most famous Brazilian singer since Astrud Gilberto, who sang “The Girl from Ipanema” nearly 60 years ago. Her blend of local funk and pop has taken her far from her hometown.
Ironic enough, one of the singers’ top international hits in 2021 was fitting, “Girl From Rio,” which samples Gilberto’s bossa nova classic. “Hot girls, where I’m from, we don’t look like models,” she sang. “Tan lines, big curves, and the energy glows.”
