Archer is about the secret espionage agency International Secret Intelligence Service. It focuses on the titular character Sterling Archer (H. John Benjamin) who is a narcissistic playboy. Other characters include Archer’s love interest Lana (Aisha Tyler), his snarky mother, Malory (Jessica Walter), Malory’s assistant Cheryl Tunt (Judy Greer), accountant Cyril Figgis (Chris Parnell), and more. The series sees these characters get into risky and humorous situations. It is part spy, part comedy, and all thrills.

Archer premiered in 2009 on FX. Originally, the series did not have much advertisement. However, the series has consistently had positive reviews, specifically for its unique and adult comedy. Like most series, there have been some drop-offs in the writing as more seasons of Archer have come out. However, it has kept some loyal viewers. In 2017, the series moved to FXX and became one of the network’s biggest programs. Over the years, Archer has had eight Emmy nominations and two wins. In terms of adult animation, Archer and its humor have gone far.

Archer is one of my favorite TV shows of all time. Seasons 1-5 are top tier comedies. Archer Dreamland feels like it was made just for me. I’m sad to see it end, but I feel like it’s losing its steam. Seasons 9-11 are just okay. Hopefully the show ends on top. pic.twitter.com/eIjPhHSOSl

Season 14 will be the second season since star Jessica Walter’s death. Walter died in March 2021, after she finished production for season 12. Fans were emotional about her departure, and it felt different without her. However, the comedy and story stayed strong last season, so that is expected for the final season as well.

Archer has made audiences laugh for over a decade. While parts of it may be crude, fans will be sad to see this series go.
