Ahead of their new project, the London girl group, Needanamebro, finally picked their official name: Say Now.

For singers Yssy Salvanera, Amelia Onuorah, and Maddie Haynes, choosing a name for their R&B girl group was no easy feat. So, from their formation in 2022 until yesterday, they’ve been going by the appropriately titled name Needanamebro.

On Tuesday, they answered the question fans have been asking on social media daily: what’s the newly official group name? Their answer: “Say Now.”

They announced this on social media alongside an explanation for the powerful meaning behind their choice.

“Say Now is something we live by,” they stated in the TikTok caption. “It’s all about saying how you feel when you feel it. You’ve only got one life, tell that person you love them, don’t hold your feelings in and do that thing you’ve always wanted to do.”

Many fans have taken to social media to share conflicting feelings about the new name. While some celebrate this change with the Say Now members, others are sad the gimmick is over.

“I would’ve named them like ‘Girl, Anonymous’ or like ‘Jane Doe’ to keep with the theme…” a Twitter user stated.

However, it seems that Say Now expected a mixed reaction. In the TikTok announcement, they addressed their nervousness about revealing a new name.

“Social media can be a pretty scary place, so we’re feeling a bit nervous about sharing our name with you,” they stated. “But here goes… we’re Say Now.”

Whether fans are on board with the name or not, there’s no denying that this talented group is on the rise. Even though they’ve only released four songs (some with multiple iterations), Say Now has over 250,000 followers on TikTok and have already signed with Atlantic Records.

On Wednesday, one day after the name change announcement, they released the needanamebro EP on all streaming platforms. It features three previously released songs, one new track titled “Massive,” an acoustic version of “Not A Lot Left To Say,” and a sped-up version of “Better Love.”

“Thank you guys so much for all the support on the new name,” Say Now stated on social media. “We wanted to celebrate the end of this chapter with a collection of tracks and some surprises.”

You can watch the video for the “Not A Lot Left To Say” acoustic version on YouTube and listen to the full project on all streaming platforms.
