Jennifer Lopez Sequels This Is Me…Then Album Nine Years Later

Jennifer Lopez, aka J.Lo, has debuted her upcoming album called This Is Me…Now, which is her first solo studio album in nine years since the last release of A.K.A. in 2014.

The album sequel to Lopez’s third studio album, This Is Me…Then, released 20 years ago, was inspired by Academy Award-winning actor Ben Affleck.

When asked how love is different now versus how it was back then pertaining to Lopez’s This Is Me…Then album and marriage to Ben Affleck. She stated, “I’ve grown a lot, and these albums really are about capturing those moments in time like I captured that moment in time with the ‘This Is Me...Then’ album.” Lopez goes on to mention that no one else will be on the album. “Just me and my whole heart.”

The award-winning singer and actress partnered with BMG, Bertelsmann Music Group. Billboard exclusively announced they are genuinely excited to work with her.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with her and her team to release her first album in nearly a decade,” announced BMG’s CEO, Thomas Coesfeld. “‘Jenny From The Block’ is back at a point in her career when her message is bigger than ever.”

Fans took to social media to express their excitement for the singer.

According to Billboard, the album was produced by J.Lo, Rogét Chahayed, Angel Lopez, and Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman, and other songwriter-producers include Hitboy, Ink, Tay Keith, Yeti Beats, Carter Lang, Kim “Kaydence” Krysiuk, with BMG’s Brandon Riester as the album’s A&R.

With one year to complete, This is Me…Now took a year to be completed at Lopez’s home studio in Los Angeles.

Initially, the album was slated to debut in the summer. However, it was rescheduled for early next fall with no release date. In the meantime, fans can stream her music on all streaming platforms.
