Dr. Frasier Crane has re-entered the building. Kelsey Grammer, who has embodied the psychiatrist for a whopping 30 years is back for the highly anticipated revival.

Paramount+ unveiled the first teaser trailer for the Frasier revival. It begins, “Frasier is back … and he’s basically the same.” The revival finds the famous radio psychiatrist returning to old stomping grounds: Boston. Grammer began his journey as Dr. Frasier Crane while appearing on Cheers in 1984. After appearing in Cheers, Grammer was granted a spin-off for his character, which ran for eleven seasons (1993-2004).

The veteran actor gave some insight into his character now on a late-night appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He revealed, “Later in his life, Frasier Crane is a little more mature. He’s got a little more wisdom about him but he’s a little bit silly and takes certain things more seriously than most people do. That’s his character. And it’s been really fun to play him again.”

Fans can find some similarities between Frasier and his son, Freddy (Jack Cutmore-Scott) to that of Frasier and his father, Martin Crane (John Mahoney). Frasier wants to improve his relationship with his son and he “will not take no for an answer.”

In addition to his family, the only returning cast members from the original series include Dr. Lilith Sternin (Bebe Neuwirth), Frasier’s former flame and Freddy’s mother. Roz Doyle (Peri Gilpin), Frasier’s radio producer, will also appear in a guest role.

The revival finds newer faces as well. Frasier’s college buddy, Alan (Nicholas Lyndhurst), Olivia (Toks Olagundoye), Alan’s colleague and head of the university’s psychology department, Freddy’s roommate, Eve, (Jess Salgueiro), and Frasier’s nephew, David, (Anders Keith), round out the cast.

The 10-episode first season will premiere with two episodes on Thursday, October 12, and drop new episodes weekly. We cannot be any more excited for this upcoming revival. Frasier is available to stream on Hulu.
