Just in time for the cozy, cool Fall, singer-songwriter Joshua Bassett is back with new music. Over the past few months, Bassett has been quiet on the music front, with the most recent being the final High School Musical: The Musical: The Series soundtrack, so today’s Instagram tease was a sweet surprise to fans.

In the Instagram post, Bassett posted what seems to be the album cover of his new single titled “Just Love.” He simply captioned the post, “friday. pre-save in bio.” Immediately, fans went into a frenzy, commenting things like “WE ARE SO BACK!!!!!!” and “I CANT WAIT FOR THE ALBUM AND THE TOUR.” MTV even got in on the announcement, mentioning they have to “stan again.”

Of course, fans are also speculating that where there’s smoke, there’s fire, but in this case, where there’s a single, there’s an album on the horizon. In the past, the “All in Due Time” singer opted for shorter EPs like Sad Song In A Hotel Room released this time last year. After that, he released the four singles “would you love me now?” “SHE SAID HE SAID SHE SAID,” “i’m sorry,” and “Different” on a weekly basis and then released it as another E.P. named after “Different.”

For the longest, Bassett has teased his debut album, and both EPs were just droplets of what’s to come, but if those were only previews, fans are in for an emotion-provoking, storytelling treat. Specifically, if fans remember, Sad Songs In A Hotel Room discussed topics like his less-than-stellar experience in Los Angeles and his 2021 health scare

There are no snippets or a concept of the song, but based on previous work, the wait is expected to be worth it.

“Just Love” drops on September 22, which you can pre-save here. Check out the rest of Joshua Bassett’s music on all streaming platforms.
