Zayn Malik Sings in Urdu for His New Song With Aur
Zayn Malik collaborated with the up-and-coming Pakistani band AUR on their song “Tu hai Kahan,” singing in his native language, Urdu.
The “Pillowtalk” singer joined the Karachi-based R&B/Hiphop trio AUR on a new rendition of their popular song “Tu hai Kahan.” The song is a dreamy love song in Urdu full of longing and angst.
“I was incredibly humbled when AUR reached out and asked me to collaborate on their song ‘Tu Hai Kahan,’” Malik told The Rolling Stone. “I love the song and have brought some of myself to it.” The song has been caught up by Urdu/Hindi speakers and the “Dusk Till Dawn” singer’s fans worldwide, giving the upcoming band a new audience. Fans are swooning over Malik’s vocals.

The song “Tu Hai Kahan” came out last year and reached the No.1 spot on the Spotify charts in India and Pakistan. Ahad Khan, Usama Ali, and Raffey Anwar, the singers from the band AUR, revealed in an interview with BBC Asian Network that their song “Tu Hai Kahan” first started trending in India. Following the love they got from India, Malik reached out to them and told them he “really liked” their song.
Khan revealed that the people from Sony asked them who they wanted to collaborate with and he randomly stated Zayn Malik. “I didn’t know any of this was going to happen,” he exclaimed. “And when we received his vocals we thought it was AI,” Khan expressed his disbelief. “We thought someone was playing a prank on us,” Anwar added.
The singers explained that the collaboration with Malik still felt like a dream. The group also stated that they received support and much love from their audience and families. Moreover, Anwar shared that his mother is actively informing him about the latest news about the song.
