Taylor Swift announced her newest album, The Tortured Poets Department, at the 66 annual Grammy Awards while accepting her award for Best Pop Vocal Album.

Swift surprised fans and celebrities attending the show with the announcement of her upcoming album, which will be released on April 19. The album will contain 16 new tracks and a bonus song titled “The Manuscript.”

She was lucky enough to grace the Grammy stage multiple times, even after her album announcement.

“Okay, this is my 13 Grammy, which is my lucky number. I don’t know if I’ve ever told you that.” Swift teased at the beginning of her speech. “I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years,” she stated.

Almost immediately after Swift exited the stage, her Instagram was updated with the album’s cover art and its tagline, “All’s fair in love and poetry.” The photo featured lyrics that read, “And so I enter into evidence / My tarnished coat of arms / My muses, acquired like bruises / My talismans and charms / The tick, / tick, / tick, / of love bombs, / my veins of pitch black ink.”

The news shocked fans, as she had previously changed her social media pictures to black and white. Initially, this had fans speculating that she was set to announce her re-recording of Reputation (Taylor’s Version).

Her attire at the event led to these speculations as well. The “Cruel Summer” singer donned a white gown with black opera gloves. Regardless of her social media and attire, no one had anticipated an entirely new album.

Later in the night, Swift was amazed as she returned to the stage to accept her fourth Album of the Year award for Midnights. She made history with this achievement, becoming the first artist to win this award four times.

The star is known for her Easter eggs and lucky numbers, and she only continues to leave fans wanting more. Pre-save The Tortured Poets Department here.
