Her 2022 “SOUR Tour” proved that the singer had what it took as a vocalist and lyricist, but the sold-out yet smaller venues left something to be desired amongst fans. In Rodrigo’s defense, even though she had the star power to sell out larger theatres, she did not feel ready to perform for such large crowds as a first-time solo artist.

“I don’t think I should skip any steps,” she told The Los Angeles Times in 2021. Now, the “vampire” singer has proved that the wait was worth it.

Opening the show with “bad idea, right?” the 90-minute production features all of the songs from her sophomore album, GUTS, including the bonus track “Obsessed,” and seven songs from her debut album, SOUR.

Much like her first tour, an all-female band backs her up, which she is very proud of. But this time around, Rodrigo also has a troupe of eight dancers who follow her throughout the concert with fast-paced, edgy choreography that even pays tribute to the infamous “Disney knees.”

The dancers get a break in Act III when Rodrigo straps into a high-flying crescent moon lift and flies over the crowd to perform “logical” and “enough for you.” While the ballads are how fans came to know and love the singer, what sets this tour apart from her first is the increased stage production and elevated stage presence of the now 21-year-old.

In TikTok videos all over, Rodrigo is bouncing around every corner of the stage, nailing her choreography, letting loose, and encouraging the crowd to do the same—especially during “all american b*tch,” where she instructs fans to “think about that someone or something that really pisses you off” and scream it out when the lights go down.

She keeps up with the young adult angst to the end, closing out with “get him back!” sung mainly on a megaphone.

This tour has just begun and has already been met with a warm reception. At this rate, the singer’s third concert will have to take place in stadiums, and even then, some fans still wouldn’t be able to get tickets.

Olivia Rodrigo’s “GUTS World Tour” will run through August 9 and is practically sold out, but you can check back to Ticketmaster in hopes of someone selling their tickets at the last minute. If not, you can always hold your own concert at home by streaming GUTS on all music platforms.
