Colin Farrell has released the trailer for his new series, Sugar. The drama series premieres on April 5 on Apple TV+.

Screenwriter Mark Protosevich is debuting into the television genre with his new mysterious science fiction drama, Sugar. The series stars Colin Farrell, an executive producer on the project. Farrell portrays John Sugar, a Los Angeles private detective. He is tasked with investigating the disappearance of Olivia Siegel, the granddaughter of famous Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel (James Cromwell). As he dives deeper into his investigation, he discovers troubling secrets about the Siegels that affect not only his investigation but also himself.

Farrell has been a leading man in films since 2000. His debut starring role was in the war drama Tigerland (2000), and he made his acting breakthrough in Steven Spielberg’s science fiction film Minority Report (2002). Since then, the Irish actor has been making waves in the film industry and has won countless awards, including two Golden Globes—one in 2009 for In Bruges and again in 2023 for The Banshees of Inisherin—and a Critic’s Choice Super Award.

The next film he produced, The Beautiful Game, will be released on Netflix on March 29. As for his next role, Farrell and award-winning actress Margot Robbie will perform in A Big Bold Beautiful Journey. Plot details have yet to be released, but the two will portray strangers on a journey that connects them in indescribable ways.

Furthermore, Farrell stars alongside Brendan Gleeson in his newest film, The Banshees of Inisherin. The two portray Colm (Gleeson) and Pádraic (Farrell) as lifelong best friends when Colm suddenly decides to end the friendship. The abrupt end causes major consequences for the two of them. It was written and directed by Martin McDonagh, who also wrote and directed In Bruges.

Sugar will release on Apple TV+ on April 5. While anticipating the new series, viewers can watch the trailer below and Farrell’s latest film, The Banshees of Inisherin on Hulu.
