Madeline Brewer Joins Netflix’s You for Its Final Season

Netflix’s hit series, Youis coming to its fifth and final season. Joining the talented cast is actress Madeline Brewer. 

The Handmaid’s Tale star will portray Bronte, an ambiguous and free-spirited playwright who begins working for Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) at his bookstore. Bronte begins to remind Goldberg of his former self, which leads him to question what his life has become. 

Brewer’s character may have what seems to be an ominous fate ahead, as the You X account added the note: “Good luck, girl,” alongside the announcement. 

The Netflix thriller is famously based on Caroline Kepnes’ best-selling novel of the same name. The book and series revolve around the question, “What would you do for love?” All while the series follows Joe Goldberg, a man who seems willing to do anything in the name of love.

The announcement that Brewer would join the You cast arrived shortly after The Handmaid’s Tale reported they would be filming its sixth season, which is also to be the last. 

The Handmaid’s Tale is also built upon the best-selling novel by Margaret Atwood. Brewer is best known for portraying Janine in the Golden Globe-winning series, for which she was nominated in 2021 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in Drama Series. 

Brewer is also known for her roles in films and TV series such as Orange Is The New Black, The Ultimate Playlist of Noise, Hemlock Grove, Cam, and Space Oddity. Additionally, she is set to star in the thriller film Anniversary alongside Kyle Chandler, Phoebe Dynevor, Diane Lane, and Zoey Deutch. Along with this, she will soon star in I Live Here Now with Lucy Fry.

Netflix has not yet announced the release date for You season five, but fans’ anticipation will continue. In the meantime, audiences can watch the first four seasons of You on Netflix.
