During the pandemic, Selena Gomez became everyone’s favorite home chef. Now, the Only Murders in the Building star furthers her culinary journey in her new Food Network series, Selena + Restaurant.

Selena + Chef quickly became a fan favorite after premiering on HBO in August 2020. The Emmy-nominated program showcases the iconic Selena Gomez as she hones her culinary skills with advice from expert chefs. Filmed from her home and featuring calls over Zoom, fans found comfort in the relatability of the series.

Now, however, the actress ventures out of her kitchen and into those of the professionals. Her new series, Selena + Restaurant, follows Gomez and her best friend, Raquelle Stevens, as they travel to popular Los Angeles restaurants and work alongside culinary experts.

Restaurants featured in the series include Ms Chi, Alta, Girl & the Goat, Moo’s Craft Barbecue, CUT, and Lemon Grove. The singer will work with incredible chefs Shirley Chung, Keith Corbin, Stephanie Izard, Andrew and Michelle Muñoz, Wolfgang Puck, and Marcel Vigneron.

The first season consists of 6 episodes and premieres May 2. Starting at 7 p.m. ET, Food Network will air the first two episodes back-to-back.

Warner Bros. Discovery first teased a new project with Gomez last May. The media conglomerate revealed, “Gomez will also soon begin working on a new series for 2024 that will have her meeting up with some of the best chefs in the country in a quest to cook their most popular dishes when she visits their kitchens.”

In addition to learning the art of cooking, the star must “make a signature dish good enough to land on the restaurant’s menu,” according to Variety

Regarding the change of environment, the Rare Beauty founder expressed, “After cooking mostly virtually from my kitchen with some of the best chefs for the last four years, I was thrilled to step into their world.” The “Lose You to Love Me” singer teased, “You’ll have to see if being in person helped my skills at all.”

Selena + Restaurant premieres on Food Network on May 2. Until its release, fans can catch up on Selena + Chef on MAX.
