Lady Gaga gave fans another glimpse into her new film, Joker: Folie à Deux by sharing another poster of the film.

Gaga also revealed that the first trailer is going to be premiering on April 9, less than six months before the film’s release date. Fans have been anxious for a trailer announcement, as the film has been in development since August 2022.

The director, Todd Phillips responded to anxious fans begging for updates on the first trailer, “Been getting this question a lot. The movie comes out in October. So our first teaser won’t be out until mid-April.”

The first Joker hit theaters on October 4, 2019. Now, five years later, the sequel to the Oscar-nominated film is premiering with the same release date.

With the first announcement of a potential trailer release back in February, the excitement for the only live-action DC film this year has been raised expeditiously. Phillips released new images of the duo, Gotham City’s own Bonnie & Clyde: Harley Quinn and the Joker on Valentine’s Day.

As the spotlight shines on a twisted couple’s crime and chaos, the film has also officially received an R-rating, containing brief full nudity and strong violence.

While the film is still kept under very tight wraps, except for the revelation of Gaga to star opposite Oscar-winner Phoenix in the musical, a few more details have just unraveled.

There will be no connection to the extended DC Universe, such as The Batman or Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which is slowly being phased out to transition to James Gunn’s new projects for DC’s Elseworlds. Phillips has stated before that his take on the Joker is self-contained, but there is no confirmation if, or when Batman could debut his cowl in the upcoming film.

Gaga and Phoenix are sure to put on a star-studded show in the sequel, but we are curious to see what other characters will be making their return or debut this October. Until the trailer comes out on April 9, you can watch the first Joker on Max.
