Grant Landis Makes Musical Return With New Single ‘can’t rescue u’
Grant Landis is set to make his musical comeback this week with his new single, “can’t rescue u.” The artist took to social media to share the return.
In a post to X last week, he released a flashing, blurry visual, fading out to a quick image of the singer. Immediately, fans knew what was coming next. “We are so back,” one fan stated. “He’s backkkkk,” another wrote.
Days later, Landis revealed the single’s cover art; a black and white image of him surrounded by press and microphones. The post’s caption read, “‘can’t rescue u’ is yours this Friday.”

Back in 2021, the artist who appeared on Lifetime’s The Pop Game announced he would be taking a break from the music industry due to a loss of self. “I have lost a personal life, the ability to be with the people I love, friendships, relationships, and by the end of it I have lost myself…I have always been told that I want this, but at this point in my life, it isn’t what I want anymore,” he discussed.

In response to the excitement he’s received thus far, he reflected on this new chapter and mentioned he has “had a whole lotta emotions surrounding releasing music again. It’s scary as hell to allow a bunch of random people to listen to songs you wrote about something that was hurting you at the time. I’m not some profound, intricate a** lyricist, but everything I’ve written in the last three years is an adaption of my emotions in the only way I know how to (correctly) say and express them. Thank u for the overwhelming reaction to the release announcement, it makes it a whole lot easier to be excited instead of scared out of my mind.”
Although there are no clues as to what the single entails, we know what not to expect: a cheerful sound. “It’s all sad music btw ain’t nothin to be happy about,” he wrote on X.
