Bridgerton released the final four episodes of its third season on June 13. The final episodes of Bridgerton are filled with surprises, steamy scenes, heartbreaks, tension, and love. Fans were overjoyed to see Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton’s love story unravel on screen.

Part 2 of the series follows multiple storylines, focusing on Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin’s (Luke Newton) struggles as they course through their new love. Soon after, secrets start to unfold, and tension rises, leaving viewers questioning who to trust.

The end of episode four left viewers with Colin asking Penelope to take his hand in marriage. In the remaining four episodes, Eloise demands Penelope tell her brother the truth. The night is filled with games and laughter, but Penelope’s eyes never leave the ticking clock counting the minutes until Colin knows her secret.

As the clock strikes midnight, Cressida (Eloise’s newest friend) uses the knowledge of Lady Whistledown to her advantage, telling the crowds that “I am she.” Penelope is left breathless and swoons into her fiancé’s arms.

In the weeks leading up to Penelope and Colin’s wedding, Cressida acts as Lady Whistledown hoping go garner the award money. Penelope sneaks out at night to publish one last time, and as she leaves, Colin discovers her darkest secret.

With tension rising, fans were thrilled to see their favorite couple, Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Bridgerton (Simone Ashley) return from their honeymoon, especially with the news that they are expecting a child.

Season three focuses on many of the Bridgerton family members. Fans were excited to see Benedict Bridgterton reveal his love for Lady Tilley Arnold (Hannah New) and Paul Suarez (Lucas Aurelio) as producers expand on his sexuality, stating that they are leaving his storyline open for now.

Fans assumed Benedict and Eloise Bridgterton’s sexual fluidity, but producers surprised fans with Francesca Bridgerton. At the end of the season, Francesca marries her match, Lord John Stirling (Victor Alli). During Featherington’s ball, John introduces Francesca to his cousin Michaela. Book fans noticed Michaela is a “gender-swapped version of Francesca’s book love interest, Michael.” Fans are excited to see what producers have in store for her season as they embrace change.

At the end of the final episode, Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) appears at Featherington’s ball, stating that she knows who Lady Whistledown is, and they must make their case. Penelope takes to the center of the ballroom and gives a memorable speech about loneliness and acceptance that touches the hearts of many viewers.

Though there were slight changes made to the storyline of the novel, fans loved seeing Colin and Penelope’s friendship blossom into a love story.
