Percy Jackson Casts an Important Role for Season Two
During San Diego Comic-Con two weeks ago, Percy Jackson and the Olympians cast an important role for the upcoming second season.
At the Comic-Con panel for the series, author and television series co-creator Rick Riordan announced that Daniel Diemer is joining the cast for the second season. Deadline quickly followed with a report, as the announcement was originally exclusive to the panel’s spectators.

Diemer will portray the character of Tyson, who makes his debut in The Sea of Monsters, the book that the second season is adapting. Tyson is a Cyclops who Percy Jackson meets at school. They become fast friends and Tyson eventually joins Percy on his adventures, being revealed as his half-brother. Diemer has his work cut out for him, as Tyson sees a lot of action during the story.
In addition, Diemer will join series stars Walker Scobell, Leah Jeffries, Dior Goodjohn, and Charlie Bushnell for season two. He will also serve as somewhat of a replacement for lead Aryan Simhadri, whose role as Grover Underwood is smaller this time around. Goodjohn and Bushnell will also have larger roles this season, which began production at the start of August.

Based on Rick Riordan’s bestselling books, a television series was first announced in 2022, with production beginning later that year. Two films, which the fanbase and Riordan himself rejected, followed. This time, Riordan serves as executive producer and writer. Because of this, the first season was already much more accurate to the books. Fans hope the second season follows in those footsteps and corrects some flaws from season 1.
