The Brutalist, directed by Brady Corbet, appears to fall nothing short of that in its trailer, which captivated the audience making it one of the most anticipated
The historical drama follows 30 years of Jewish architect Lazlo Toth’s (Brody) life, where he experiences the joys and despairs of the “American dream.” Jones will portray Erzebet, Brody’s on-screen wife, and Alwyn will take the role of Harry Lee, the on-screen son of Guy Pearse.
If its array of esteemed actors isn’t enough to trigger curiosity, the film was also shot entirely on 70mm. It will offer the same smooth and vivid colors and an appealing immersive quality that we only get from these films, such as Dunkirk, 2001: Space Odyssey, and Hamlet. It is important to mention that it will also be over 3 hours long.

The film and its 215-minute run time will be released on December 20 in theaters nationwide. It was already viewed and screened at the Venice Film Festival, whose astonishing 13-minute standing ovation, received much attention from viewers on social media.
The Brutalist lives up to the hype. This is just epic cinema making.I loved all 3 and a half hours (plus intermission!). Adrien Brody and Guy Pierce are performing at their best. The level of filmmaking here hasn’t been seen since the epics of David Lean. #NYFF62 pic.twitter.com/YvTCQJnDWP— Matthew Hoeck (@Matt_Hoeck) October 12, 2024
A24 bought the film after its presence at the festival, adding another layer of enticement for American viewers. Check out A24’s films currently on MAX.
