Steven Yeun Is Reportedly Set to Star in Jordan Peele’s New Film
Minari star Steven Yeun has been allegedly tapped to feature in Jordan Peele’s latest horror film. Yeun continues to be a busy man, as he is fresh off a history-making Oscar nomination for his role in Minari. He is the first Asian-American of Korean descent to be nominated in the category for Best Actor. Not much has been revealed about Peele’s third horror film, but Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer will be making appearances. The film is set for release on July 22, 2022.
Peele will continue to produce the film with Ian Cooper of Monkeypaw Productions. Peele’s latest horror film will mark his third collaboration with Universal. His first collaboration had been the 2017 smash hit Get Out, which starred Daniel Kaluuya. The 2017 film garnered a whopping four Oscar nominations, where Peele took home the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Peele’s second collaboration had been the 2019 film, Us, which starred Lupita Nyong’o. Both films had been equally terrifying. Both films had generated over $500 million at the box office.
Original Screenplay award is next! Jordan Peele is immensely talented, whether it’s comedy, horror, writing, directing the man can do it all! #GetOut was his directorial debut and it’s fantastic how unsettling it is, it’s certainly one of the best horror movies in recent years! https://t.co/WSyiBoSjaF pic.twitter.com/znl2VBGpFP

Deadline was the first to announce Yeun is being looked at for the role in the new Jordan Peele film. Yeun is most notably known for his role as Glenn Rhee from the television series The Walking Dead, a role he portrayed from 2010-2016. In 2018, he starred in the South Korean psychological thriller mystery drama, Burning. Yeun will also be featured in the Netflix comedy-drama Beef, opposite Ali Wong.
