BTS Announce New English-Language Single ‘Butter’
K-pop supergroup BTS has announced their next English-language single, “Butter”. The song will mark their second English-language song, following their hit single “Dynamite.” The big announcement was made by the group out of the blue on Monday, April 26 through a YouTube live stream and kept fans guessing through a fun, teasing countdown.
Fans were left guessing when the boy group very randomly went live on YouTube, showing only a bright-yellow animated cube of butter showcasing the BTS logo with an hour-long countdown. Many fans tuned in, trying to figure out the message, causing the YouTube video to trend at #3 worldwide as well as the phrase ‘WHAT’S MELTING’ on Twitter as fans tried to understand. As the timer eventually ran out the phrase ‘Butter’ appeared on the screen, as well as the release date of May 21.

Fans are highly anticipating this summer single, coming just weeks after the group’s latest release, “Film Out.” The YouTube live stream has already surpassed 1.5 million likes within one day and the Twitter hashtag #BTS_Butter has been used over 800,000 times, gearing up to follow in the footsteps of “Dynamite,” the group’s first record-breaking English single.

The single is available to pre-order on bts-butter.com for only $0.69 as well as available for pre-save on Spotify and Apple Music. “Butter” is set to be released at midnight on Friday, May 21.
