Warner Bros Introduces Young Tony Soprano in New Trailer for ‘The Many Saints of Newark’
The gripping story of the rise of young Anthony Soprano is making its way to theaters this Fall. Fans of the HBO series The Sopranos should expect to be revisiting their favorite gangsters in their early years while newer audiences brace themselves to getting instantly hooked.
A new trailer for Sopranos’ prequel, The Many Saints of Newark, has recently been released, giving fans a glimpse of young Tony Soprano.
Set in what the logline refers to as “The most tumultuous eras in Newark’s history,” audiences will watch teenaged Anthony Soprano rise up as the all-powerful street boss in the midst of rival gangsters challenging the cold-blooded DiMeo crime mob family. Fans will also get to witness how the influence of Tony’s uncle, Dickie Moltisanti, shaped him into the fearless gangster they have come to know.
The film will be featuring a cast with familiar faces, including Michael Gandolfini who will play young Tony, Vera Farmiga as his mother (Livia Soprano), Jon Bernthal as his father (Giovanni ‘Johnny Boy’ Soprano), Alessandro Nivola as his uncle (Dicke Moltisanti), and more.
In addition, the writer/producer and creator of The Sopranos, David Chase, will be collaborating with director Alan Taylor to deliver a riveting account of the background story of the infamous DiMeo family.
Overall, The Many Saints of Newark will premiere in theatres on Friday, October 1, and will be available on HBO Max for the first 31 days. Since it has been 14 years since the finale of The Sopranos, viewers may want to stream the series in the meantime, whether they’re longtime fans or not.
