New Drake and Brent Faiyaz Collaboration ‘Wasting Time’ Is Out Now and Fans Are Loving It
Brent Faiyaz and Drake released a new collaboration, “Wasting Time,” a single written by the famed duo The Neptunes. The synth-heavy track is everything fans wanted and more, as the melody embodies the perfect chill vibe for the summer.
Produced by Chad Hugo of The Neptunes and Pharrell, the single was destined to be a hit. The song itself honors the women in both artists’ lives with the catchy lyrics: “If you’re gonna waste your time/ Then waste your time with me/ You can have all the space/ More than you need/ It’s no pressure, girl/ If you got time to waste (Waste)/ Waste it with me.”
Fans quickly rushed to social media to share some gratitude and enthusiasm.

Although short and sweet, Drake’s cut of the song remains legendary with a fun reference to the Netflix series The Queen Gambit. The rapper creatively spits, “New piece around my neck is chess games, ’cause shawty stay with calculated moves like Beth Harmon,” referencing the main character.
“Wasting Time” also includes a visual tribute to Pharrell’s 2006 solo debut In My Mind. The simplistic-style cover illustrates Daiyaz and Drizzy with the same art and font as Skateboard P’s release.
Between collaborating with Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne with “Seeing Green” and releasing a total of three bops on the Scary Hours 2 EP, Drake has kept busy this year. Faiyaz himself also released new music through Fuck the World. Despite receiving the album, fans lucked out as Faiyaz continued to share some recent hits such as “Gravity” with Tyler, the Creator over the last few months.
The YouTube audio video for “Wasting Time” has reached over 1 million views so far and only continues to grow. Until we hear more from Brent Faiyaz and Drizzy news, be sure to check out their clip above.
