‘ICarly’ Reboot Scores A New Season
The reboot of ICarly is coming back to Paramount+ for a second season. Based on the hit Nickelodeon show, for five years, fans watched Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove) and her friends Sam Pucket (Jeanette McCurdy) and Freddie Benson (Nathan Kress) face challenges of teenagehood while running a web show called ‘ICarly.’ The series ran from 2007-2012.
Now, the re-launch returns almost a decade later, with the main characters in their twenties. Freddie and Carly’s brother, Spencer (Jerry Trainor), are back along with new faces: Carly’s new best friend, Harper (Laci Mosely), and Freddie’s adopted daughter, Millicent (Jaidyn Triplett.) As adults, the show follows Carly navigating adulthood and returning to her passion for web show hosting.

In addition to starring as the main characters, Cosgrove serves as an executive producer and Trainor as a producer. During an interview, Cosgrove explains her excitement about being behind the scenes as a producer.
“I’ve learned a lot of things really fast that I never knew about before. I’m getting to help edit all the episodes. I’ve never edited anything in my life. So seeing all the behind-the-scenes things, talking to the set designers from the very start, figuring all that out, and seeing how they put the sets together — these are all things that I’ve never done before. So it’s just been a real learning process.”
“And I also just feel like I’ve gotten better at speaking up for myself,” she added. “Because when you’re being asked questions all day long about, ‘Where should this go? What should we do? Do you think your character would say this?’ you really start to get used to it. People are looking to me and asking me questions, so I feel it’s been really empowering, and that’s one of the things that I’m most proud of from this experience.”
