‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Shines in the Box Office for Four Weeks
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings are reigning as the highest-grossing movie for a fourth consecutive week. This weekend alone, the movie raked in an additional $13.3 million dollars, beating musical Dear Evan Hanson’s opening weekend ($7.5 million).

Furthermore, the action-packed Marvel film has beaten a fellow superhero’s domestic gross chart. Shang-Chi booted Black Widow’s from its number 1 spot. Domestically, Shang-Chi has generated $196.5 million and globally $363.4 million, knocking Black Widow out of the ballpark. Unlike its counterpart, Black Widow earned $183.6 million domestically and $360 million globally. The Hollywood Reporter projects that Shang-Chi should reach $200 million once its run is over.

Shang-Chi is a huge success receiving a 92% Rotten Tomatoes Score, ranked at number 1 as the highest-grossing film of 2021, and earned over $71.4 million during Labor Day Weekend.
During an interview with ABC7 on September 6, Simu Liu shared his excitement about Shang-Chi’s success and his thoughts of playing a superhero. “I mean this is incredible. It’s such a dream come true for so many reasons. I’ve wanted to play a superhero pretty much my whole life. Before I knew they were in movies, I just wanted to be a superhero.”
