Netflix’s Hit Series ‘Squid Game’ Has a Season 2 on the Horizon
Fans are ecstatic to learn that there will be a season two for Netflix’s hit South Korean series Squid Game. The show creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk confirmed the exciting news recently at a screening and Q&A in Los Angeles.
Squid Game quickly became a global phenomenon this past September and has even been crowned as Netflix’s biggest hit in history where the South Korean series dominated the screens of about two-thirds of households.
Shortly after the survival game series premiered on September 17, it held the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s top 10 most popular shows for several weeks.

During an interview with the Associated Press, Hwang stated:
“There’s been so much pressure, so much demand and so much love for a second season. So I almost feel like you leave us no choice! But I will say there will indeed be a second season. It’s in my head right now. I’m in the planning process currently.”
Although the hit show creator expressed that it may be too early to give concrete details, he mentioned that lead actor Lee Jung-jae will return as Seong Gi-hun.

In addition, the thriller series is Netflix’s first show to hit 100 million viewers within its premiere window, knocking record-breaking series, Bridgerton out the water.
