The actors worked together in a previous movie called Poker Face, directed by Will Eubank. The film will premiere on December 30.
Land of Bad tells the story of Reaper (Crowe), an Air Force drone pilot sent on an extraction mission in the southern Philippines, where he works with a field team on the ground. One member of his team is a green Air Force JTAC called Kinney (Hemsworth).
The extraction mission takes a deadly turn when the enemy finds out the team is there. The team must then find a way out, with no communication and weapons to help them and relying solely on the drone above, which Reaper operates. Consequently, Reaper becomes the group’s only chance of escaping safely.
Eubank will be executive producing alongside David Frigerio (The Signal), Adam Beasley (Last Survivors), and Michael Jefferson (Into the Ashes). Beasley and Jefferson will be working under Volition Media Partners and Frigerio under Broken Open Pictures. John Stalberg and Cindy Bru are also executive producers for the thriller film, working under R.U. Robot.

Eubank expressed his excitement for this upcoming project, stating how he “couldn’t be more grateful to the whole team for helping bring this project to life.” Frigerio also shared his excitement about how he “couldn’t be more stoked to be making this timely film, especially with [his] good friend, Will Eubank, piloting the ship.”
The official release date for Land of Bad hasn’t been set. But while fans of Hemsworth and Crowe wait for the action-packed film, they can watch Poker Face in theaters.
