Brandi Carlile Releases New Album In The Canyon Haze
Brandi Carlile is back with more music. The “Stay Gentle” singer re-recorded her seventh studio album, In These Silent Days, in its entirety with an acoustic spin titled In The Canyon Haze.
On September 28, Carlile’s other version of In These Silent Days was released. She states, “So, the twins (Phil and Tim Hanseroth) and I locked ourselves in the attic studio in my barn just like the old days… and we reimagined our entire record.”
Prior to the release of the reimagined record, Carlile shared “You and Me on the Rock (In the Canyon Haze),” a remake that features her wife, Catherine Carlile, on harmony vocals.
On September 2, Carlile announced that a deluxe album was on the way during a stop at The Today Show. She elaborated more on the decision to release the new version, citing the importance of “Joni Jams,” as well as the imagery from the Laurel Canyon music scene. She states, “I could see the cast of California Dreamers with embroidered flowers and peace signs on their backs drifting through a Polaroid haze… I could hear the CSN harmonies traveling through the canyon from Lookout Mountain and the accompanying laughter of Mama Cass.”

Carlile ends the post by writing, “I could feel the liberation, the friction, and the freedom from modern-day digital distractions that laid such fertile ground at the feet of west coast poets and troubadours. We named this album In The Canyon Haze.”
We cannot be happier to have an early deluxe version out on the one-year anniversary of In These Silent Days on October 1. Fans can stream both In These Silent Days and In The Canyon Haze on all major music platforms.
