That ’70s Show Cast Returns In New Spinoff
Calling all That ’70s Show fans, you can officially put your decades-long nostalgia to rest. The original cast members are set to star in the Netflix spinoff That ’90s Show.
Everyone’s favorite couple, Donna (Laura Prepon) and Eric (Topher Grace) are now parents. The series follows Leia Forman’s (Callie Haverda) summer trip to her grandparents Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) and Red (Kurtwood Smith). Set in 1995, a new generation of Points Place teens come to terms with growing up. New cast members include Callie Haverda, Ashley Aufderheide, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi, and Sam Morelos.
That ’70s Show followed the lives of the original Points Place teens grappling with their transition from childhood to adulthood. Its authentic teenage humor, problems, and opening theme song stamps the show as a cult classic.
A lesser-known sequel, That ’80s Show, debuted in 2002. This sequel broadcasts the lives of a group of 20-year-olds in San Diego under the social and political climate of the ’80s. However, it struggled to produce similar success to its predecessor. Unfortunately, the sequel met its untimely end before the final episode aired.
Kelso (Ashton Kutcher), Fez (Wilmer Valderama), and Jackie (Mila Kunis) will be making guest appearances in the new series. The original creators, Bonnie and Terry Turner returned as writers and executive producers. In addition, original writers and producers Gregg Mettler, Marcy Carsey, and Tom Werner also return to the franchise.
In an interview with Variety, Kutcher raved about his return, stating, “Mila and I were contemplating it, We thought, listen, we’re only in the position that we’re in because of that show, so let’s just go back and do this. We just went back and had fun for a week. It was so random and fun.” Additionally, the Vengeance star assured fans that the new series would be hilarious.
Fans on Twitter celebrated the return of their beloved series. Many have shared their thoughts on the unanswered plots from That ’70s Show.

The new series features a canonical marriage between the characters Jackie and Kelso. While fans are satisfied with the pairing, Kunis insists her character, Jackie, should’ve ended up with Fez. According to Variety, Kunis asked her husband, Ashton Kutcher (Kelso), “Why are you and I together? And also, he was married when ’70s ended to Shannon Elizabeth’s character, I think.” Despite her disagreement with the pairing, Kunis promises fans That ’90s Show will be cute and satisfy audiences who loved the original. Although no official release date exists, fans should stay tuned for new updates on the anticipated release of That ’90s Show on Netflix.
