Selena Gomez is sharing a glimpse of her life beyond the spotlight in new documentary, My Mind & Me. Apple TV+ released a trailer revealing snippets of the upcoming film.

Singer-songwriter, actress, and recent creator of RARE Beauty, Selena Gomez, has been in the limelight for years. However, her recent documentary My Mind & Me goes through her life and journey with mental health. The documentary goes into six years of Selena’s life, giving fans and viewers insight into the rise of her career and the fall of her personal life.

Director Alex Keshishian is best known for his award-winning 1991 film, Madonna: Truth or Dare, and directing Selena’s music video for her hit single, “Hands to Myself.” In an interview, he explains why he wanted to be a part of this documentary. He states “I wanted to show something more authentic and Selena did, too. She has a raw vulnerability that captured me… I had no idea then that it would become a six-year labor of love.”

The trailer shows Gomez’s different stages of life, including childhood video clips to personal footage of her in the hospital. In addition, the RARE Beauty creator opens up about her battle with anxiety, depression, and disease.

“Be who you are, Selena,” she tells herself in the clip. She adds, “No one cares about what you’re doing. It’s about who I am. Being OK with where I am. I am grateful to be alive.”

About a year ago, Selena announced that she was undergoing a kidney transplant due to her battle with lupus, an autoimmune disease. In addition to the kidney transplant, Gomez ado revealed she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

At one point in the trailer, Selena cries to a friend, expressing, “My whole life, since I was a kid, I’ve been working. And I don’t want to be like, super famous. But I do know that if I’m here, I have to use that for good.”

My Mind and Me will be released on November 4th on Apple TV+. Viewers and fans are excited to understand Selena’s life through her eyes. Fans can watch the trailer below.
