Megan Thee Stallion Receives Outpouring of Love and Support After Latest Win in Court
*TRIGGER WARNING*
“Happy for Megan” trended on social media after the Megan Thee Stallion trial against Tory Lanez for the assault that occurred in August 2020. Megan Thee Stallion was flooded with support throughout social media, including different artists.
The controversial trial lasted ten days. After a day and a half of deliberations, the Los Angeles jury found Daystar Peterson, known as “Tory Lanez,” guilty of assault with a semiautomatic handgun carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. An outpour of support from celebrities and fans for Megan followed after the verdict was read. Cardi B, Adele, and Janelle Monae are just a few that have publicly sent their support and well wishes to the artist.
Glass Onion actress Janelle Monae took to Twitter to send Megan hugs, love, and peace. Hair Love Director Matthew A. Cherry tweeted, “Happy for Meg, man. Hope she can get some rest now.” The latest winner of CBS Big Brother, Taylor Hale, wrote a tweet showing her support for not only Megan Thee Stallion but also Meghan Markle.

On her Las Vegas Residency show, “Weekends with Adele,” Adele directed a sweet message to the artist: “I want to wish Meg Thee Stallion a very, very, Merry, Merry Christmas,” she continued, “Girl, get your peace. Do what you want now, baby. Love you!” Rapper Monaleo also shared her excitement over Megan’s win stating, “So glad Megan for the justice she deserved. This is major for her and every other Black woman who has been taunted for speaking up about abuse and violence against them.”

This case highlighted a massive concern over protecting and believing Black women once they talk about their abuse. For the past two years, Megan has defended her name and story against some of the most notable artists in the music industry, including Drake, 50 Cent, and many more. Since the case’s verdict has been read, Megan has taken much-needed time off social media. Now that the judgment for the case has been read, we hope Megan can get the rest she deserves.
