New Season of The White Lotus to Be Set in Thailand
The new season of The White Lotus is rumored to be set in Thailand this time around.
The second season was released on HBO Max in October 2022, and there is already talk about where the third season will be set.
The first two seasons were set at resorts of the same name, “White Lotus,” in Hawaii and Italy but were actually shot at Four Seasons resorts in those countries. This hotel has huge resorts in four parts of Thailand. Although HBO Max declined to comment, writer and director Mike White has hinted at it.

In the clip at the end of the Season 2 finale, White hinted that Season 3 may be set in Asia and focus on “death and Eastern religion and spirituality.”
Each season centers around a theme. The first season was about money and the second was about sex, and the third one will seem to be centered around death and Eastern religion and spirituality. Based on the locations of the Four Seasons resorts, it’s likely that this theme would fit a Thailand setting.

Production has not begun for the third season of the series quite yet, as sources claim White is on the lookout for a good filming site in Thailand.
We can most likely expect to see an almost brand-new cast in the third season as we did in the second one. The White Lotus has outdone itself with its star-studded cast for both seasons so far, featuring actors such as Aubrey Plaza, Sydney Sweeney, Jennifer Coolidge, Theo James, and Haley Lu Richardson. Coolidge won both a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award earlier this year for her performance in the series as a returning character.
The White Lotus also won Golden Globes for best-limited series, anthology series, or television motion picture, along with two SAG awards, for best TV drama ensemble and for Coolidge’s performance.
