Legally Blonde Is Making A Comeback As A New TV Series
Prime Video is reportedly working on bringing Elle Woods back to the screens. However, Legally Blonde will be produced as a TV series this time.
It has been almost two decades since the debut of the iconic movie. The film quickly won over audiences worldwide. Its lead character, Elle Woods, portrayed by Reese Witherspoon, has become a beloved role model for girls everywhere.
The movie focuses on Elle Woods, who sets out to prove herself and achieve her dreams after being dumped by her boyfriend for being “too blonde.” Despite facing ridicule for her perceived lack of intelligence and her flamboyant style, Elle works hard to get into Harvard Law School. She perseveres through challenges during her time there. Her determination ultimately lead her to prove her capabilities to those who doubted her.
Legally Blonde’s impact has extended beyond the original film, inspiring spin-offs, sequels, and Broadway adaptations since its release in 2001. Therefore, it’s no surprise that it has yet again inspired a potential series.

According to Deadline, Prime Video is said to be in the process of developing the series as part of its new strategy. Amazon’s acquisition of MGM and its esteemed catalog has helped them explore the potential of film and television (given the advantage of IP). Legally Blonde, too, is being considered for various options, including a third movie entering production first. Regardless of the chosen direction, fans of this millennial icon can anticipate an exciting future ahead.
However, based on current information, it seems there is no script or storyboard developed yet for the Legally Blonde TV series. There is no indication of Reese Witherspoon’s involvement in reprising her role. This leaves the possibility for an entirely new Legally Blonde story with a new cast or even a new blonde protagonist. It also remains uncertain whether the project will be a reboot, spin-off, prequel, or sequel.
