Succession actress Sarah Snook is slated to begin production in London for the adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Snook will have a considerable challenge ahead of her, as she prepares to embody all 26 characters of the adaptation. In addition to this task, she will be alone on stage for two hours without intermission.

The Picture of Dorian Gray will hit the stage in January 2024 at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London’s West End for a limited 12-week season.

Kip Williams, the artistic director of Australia’s Sydney Theatre Company, created the show. Snook begins production this fall filming various characters and later interacting with them on the stage.

Snook is most well-known for her role as Siobhan “Shiv” Roy in HBO’s Succession. She was the Roy Family’s only daughter. Snook has received rave reviews for her performance in the fourth and final season. The actress has already established herself as a frontrunner for the upcoming award season. Her latest film, Run Rabbit Run, arrives on Netflix on June 28.

Snook continues to join her television family in theatre. Jeremy Strong, who starred as her brother Kendall Roy in the HBO series, leads the revival of Henrick Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People on Broadway. Brian Cox (Logan Roy), who embodied the role of the Roy family patriarch, will star with Patricia Clarkson in Eugene O’Neill’s Long Day’s Journey Into Night running at Wyndham’s Theatre in London from March 19 through June 8.

Harriet Walter, Logan’s ex-wife and Waystar shareholder Lady Caroline (Shiv’s mother) in Succession, is also taking part in the theatre scene. She is leading a revival of Federico Garcia Lorca’s The House of Bernardo Alba at the National Theatre’s Lyttelton House beginning in November. It is based on an adaptation by Alice Birch.

Although many fans are sad to see the Succession story come to an end, it is exciting to watch the acting members of the dysfunctional Roy family embark on their next adventures. Snook will undoubtedly put on a memorable performance in The Picture of Dorian Gray.

In the meantime, fans can secure a copy of Oscar Wilde’s novel.
