One Direction’s hit single “What Makes You Beautiful” is making headlines after the song hit 1 billion streams and former member Liam Payne is celebrating.

The former British boy band member and “Strip That Down” singer took to Instagram to share the band’s milestone. Payne posted a nostalgic photo of the entire band which formerly included Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and of course Payne himself. In addition, the singer included a lengthy caption detailing his enthusiasm surrounding the group’s success.

Payne’s post made it clear that he still has love and appreciation for his fellow One Direction members. Moreover, Payne made a touching comment in his caption for fans. He wrote, “I’m so lucky not only to share this with you but also this amazing fanbase.” Directioners quickly took to Instagram where they flooded the singer’s post with comments and likes in excitement.

The hit single, which was the band’s first-ever, was released in 2011 along with the official music video which features the group enjoying a day at a Malibu beach. The hit song served as the debut single on the band’s Up All Night album, which also features their popular hit “One Thing.”

British producer Simon Cowell brought One Direction together after each of the band’s members appeared individually on The X Factor in 2010. However, the group split in late 2015 after Zayn Malik announced his decision to leave the boy band earlier in the year. Each of the band’s former members has become solo artists and released their own albums.

The video for “What Makes You Beautiful” has surpassed a billion views on YouTube along with over a billion streams on Spotify. Fans can give the hit single a listen here.
