Nicki Minaj Teases New Song Ahead of Pink Friday 2 Release
Rapper and singer Nicki Minaj teased a clip of a new song from her upcoming studio album, Pink Friday 2.
During an Instagram live on Sunday, Minaj shared a 60-second clip of an unreleased track, titled “Last Time That I Saw You.”

On Monday, she also posted a video to Instagram, which featured the song playing in the background.
However, Minaj was not finished. She continued teasing the track and revealed some of the lyrics on Twitter: “Begging me to stay / And then you walk away / There’s something that you wanted to say / I was in a rush / and you said you were crushed. / But I said I’d be back, it’s ok…”
She continued, “I wish I’da hugged you tighter the last time that I saw you / I wish I didn’t waste precious time that night when I called you / I wish I remembered to say I’d do anything for you / Maybe I pushed you away because I thought that I’d bore you / LISTEN, so close but we were so distant.”

In another Twitter post from Monday, Minaj shared that there is only “one writer on the entire song,” likely referring to herself.

Minaj spoke about the song on social media again on Wednesday, revealing that the track is finished. With fans building their excitement for her album, she commended herself on the greatness of her entire upcoming album.
“I finished the song last night & im just in a trance,” Minaj stated. “So in love. Now imagine the greatness of this song & multiply it by (number of tracks on the album).”

The iconic artist has been keeping busy with many collaborations over the past year, including with rapper Ice Spice on “Barbie World,” a remix of Aqua’s original 1997 pop song. “Last Time That I Saw You” is the first of the rollouts for her new album.
