Taylor Swift Sets New Spotify Record for Most Streamed Album
Taylor Swift continues to top charts and break records, even her own. 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is now the most-streamed album in a single day.
Taylor Swift’s re-recorded 1989 album has made Spotify history in only twenty-four hours. Following the album’s release last Friday, Spotify announced 1989 (Taylor’s Version) as the most-streamed album in a single day.

Having previously held the title of most-streamed artist in a single day, Swift has surpassed herself on the Spotify charts. The artist has become the most-streamed artist in a single day in the music streamer’s history and is this year’s leading Billboard Music Awards finalist.
The newly recorded album contains all of the album’s original 13 songs, along with three bonus tracks, “Wonderland,” “New Romantics,” and “You Are In Love.” The album also features five cuts from the vault, including “Is It Over Now?,” “Now That We Don’t Talk,” “Say Don’t Go,” “Suburban Legends,” and “Sl*t!” With 1989‘s release, Swift has only two more Taylor’s Version re-records to release.
1989 (Taylor’s Version) is the newest addition to the singer’s collection of re-recorded albums. The pop star has been re-recording her albums in an attempt to own her music catalog completely. Swift previously released Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version) back in 2021, followed by Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) earlier this year.
When Swift first released 1989 back in 2014, the singer won Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2016 Grammy.
Watching @kendricklamar create and record his verses on the Bad Blood remix was one of the most inspiring experiences of my life. I still look back on this collaboration with so much pride and gratitude, for the ways Kendrick elevated the song and the way he treats everyone… pic.twitter.com/au2PNAjHfx

Swift continues to top charts and earn titles. Recently, the pop star topped the music charts with a song over four years old. Having “Cruel Summer” hit number one on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, Swift became the first female artist to score ten no. 1 hits on Billboard Hot 100 and ten no. 1 albums on Billboard’s 200.
“Cruel Summer” also gave Swift the longest run for a female solo artist from a Hot 100 debut to number one, reaching the top spot after over four years.
All of Swift’s re-recorded albums are available on Spotify. Listen to 1989 (Taylor’s Version) here.
