Pixar’s Inside Out 2 Releases New Trailer
Pixar’s newest film Inside Out 2 is set to release June 14, 2024. Pixar revealed the first trailer and film poster for the sequel.
Pixar has officially released the trailer for its upcoming film Inside Out 2, and fans are thrilled to see their favorite character once again.
The new film is a sequel to the 2015, coming-of-age, animated film, Inside Out. The first film centered around Riley, an 11-year-old girl, and her five main emotions, Joy, Anger, Sadness, Disgust, and Fear. In the trailer for the upcoming sequel, a new, frazzled, emotion is introduced: Anxiety.
Inside Out followed the emotions of Joy and Sadness as they embarked on a journey through Riley’s mind. The two are forced to work together to help Riley adjust to her new environment and deal with all the emotions that come along with change.

At the film’s release, in addition to outstanding reviews from both critics and viewers, Inside Out also received the 2016 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
Film critic Peter Debruge wrote that “Inside Out blows [other Pixar films] away, going beyond the screen to become something audiences will carry around for the rest of their days.” Furthermore, he described the film as “an elegant and iconic visual metaphor for understanding [audiences’] own emotions, and empathizing with others.”

Following the film, fans could not wait to view the sequel and have waited in anticipation for nearly a decade. Inside Out 2 was first announced back in 2022 at Disney’s D23 Expo.
The film’s recently released poster teases the new emotions that will be featured throughout the film. While Anxiety is the only confirmed new emotion, characters like Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment are rumored to make an appearance in the upcoming film. In the trailer, anxiety states “We wanted to make a good first impression.” This indicates that the other new emotions, although not revealed in the trailer, will join the characters.

The new poster shows the original five of Riley’s emotions standing on top of a reflective flooring that is lifted by the film’s four new emotions.
Moreover, Pixar has confirmed that Inside Out 2 will return to the mind of Riley, the film’s original protagonist from the 2015 film, who is now a teenager and working through a new set of challenges. Inside Out 2 is set to release in theaters on June 14, 2024, nearly nine years after the first film’s debut. Watch the trailer down below.
