Ice Spice has officially finished recording her debut album, Y2K.

On March 5, the “Princess Diana” singer shared on social media that she completed recording her new album, Y2K. In a post on X, the artist explained, “i finished recording y2k the album.”

This will be the rapper’s first studio album, following the success of her viral EP Like..? Ice Spice first achieved a Top 10 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 through her collaboration with PinkPantheress, “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2.”

Ice Spice teased the album’s title last November, along with news of its release sometime this year. The “Deli” singer captioned the post, “Y2K! ?/?/24.”

Recently, the rapper spoke with Billboard about working on the record. In an article from March 4, Ice Spice admitted, “I think this is some of my best work.” She also hinted about the length of the album, stating it will be “sweet and to the point.”

Fans have been waiting for more news since the singer first announced the album. One user wrote, “Ice Spice a lil tooo quiet. I know that mean she in the lab cookin. #Y2K.”

So far, the tracklist for the album is unknown, though fans have started to speculate about potential collaborations. Following the success of “Barbie World,” some wish to see rap legend Nicki Minaj work with Ice Spice again.

Additionally, the title Y2K pays tribute to the artist’s birthday. Ice Spice was born on January 1, 2000, also known as “Y2K.” The phrase refers to the phenomena surrounding a computer glitch that occurred due to the change in dates from 1999 to 2000.

To further reinforce this theme, the rapper updated her website with a “Y2K” theme. The webpage resembles an old Windows computer, complete with pop-ups letting viewers know they can pre-order the album.

Y2K will come out sometime this year, though the official date is still being kept a mystery. Until then, fans can pre-order the album and stream the rapper’s EP Like..?
